The Pledge: The OATHE that started this all, #TrashBeGone is a commitment to pick up at least one piece of litter each day. More is even better & the biggest challenge is making it a daily habit!
Some Precautions: When picking up trash, many precautions can be considered: Be wary of personal items like tissue, avoid near-any glass or syringes (unless well-protected with professionals present) & abide by all Covid-19 rules in your province/ state... Especially know, even a #CleanYourRoom pledge is great!
Is One Piece Enough?: It's up to you! In the course of your oathe journey, you will have days where you may collect a ton & others where you'll need to remind just to pick up one.
What if I Slip Up?: That's okay! This pledge is yours to keep, and our one ask is this: Do your best to keep it up, & if you miss the odd day, just move on to the next & pick up two pieces that day!
Story behind the Picture: Plastic that finds its way to the ocean has devastating affects, often finding itself into our food systems, such as when turtles mistake bags for jellyfish (read more here). That said, there are many like you fighting to clean our oceans, like Sarah featured here (courtesy of Seven Seas Media).
